Meet Jackie
With years of experience, Jackie is committed to engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children into educational programs and mainstream services. Jackie is dedicated to educating Early Childhood Educators, family support agencies and Government Departments about the importance of Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in their classrooms and organisations so that families and community members feel comfortable to access the services they provide.
Jackie Bennett is a Kamilaroi/Bigambul woman from St George in South West Queensland and is a wife, mother of 4 beautiful adult children and a grandmother of 9 gorgeous grandchildren. Jackie is the Director and Cultural Consultant of her Cultural Consultancy business, Connecting 2 Culture. This is a Cultural Consultancy service which is provided to Early Childhood Services, Schools, Government and Not for Profit Organisations that would like to improve or build on the services that they provide to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families coming into their programs.
Jackie was previously employed by Melbourne University as the Regional Implementation Manager for the Moreton Bay Region in South East Queensland. Her role was to Implement the First 1000 Days Australia program into the Moreton Bay Region from February 2018–December 2019 until the Child Safety Youth and Women contract was completed.
Jackie’s past employment history includes being employed as the Cultural Diversity Advisor for C&K in Brisbane and Site Coordinator in Townsville for Good Beginnings Australia. In these roles, she has demonstrated her commitment to engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children into educational programs and mainstream services. Jackie is dedicated to educating early childhood educators, family support agencies and Government Departments about the importance of Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in their classrooms and organisations so that families and community members feel comfortable to access the services that they provide.
Jackie is a World Forum Foundation Global Leader for Young Children and is currently a Director on the Koobara Kindergarten and Pre-Prep Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation Board.
Meet Cecelia
Cecelia is a leading multicultural trainer, communicator, and champion for Torres Strait Islander education and inclusion. She has dedicated her career to supporting inclusion and embedding these practices in the Community Services Sector for over 20 years. Cecelia is passionate about sharing knowledge and Inclusive practices with others so that they learn how unique the Torres Strait Islander culture and its people really are.
Cecelia See Kee is a leading multicultural trainer, communicator, and champion for Torres Strait Islander education and inclusion in the Community Services Sector. Cecelia is the founder of Cultural Inclusions providing authentic and unique Torres Strait Islander Resources, Professional Learning and Educational Supports for the Sector.
Originally from Waiben or Thursday Island in the Torres Strait Islands, Cecelia has dedicated her career to supporting inclusion and embedding these practices in the Community Services Sector for over 20 years. Cecelia has worked in a wide variety of Early Childhood Services, Educational Institutes, Registered Training Organisations, the Indigenous Professional Support Unit, Mura Kosker Family Wellbeing Program, the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Unit servicing Nationwide Programs and throughout the Torres Strait Islands.
Cecelia is passionate about sharing knowledge and inclusive practices with others so that they learn how unique the Torres Strait Islander culture and its people really are.
